You’ve finished all the prepping for your big day and it’s right around the corner! Don’t forget these last minute beauty tips to ensure your day goes as smoothly as possible.
Don’t Wash Your Hair
Yes you read that right! The day of your wedding, you shouldn’t wash you hair, as this will strip your hair of the natural oils that help it to look shinnier and healthier! Wash your hair the night before with shampoo and conditioner and if you need to, just rinse it with warm water in the morning! The natural oils in your hair will also help hold your bridal style hairdo.
Fix Eyelash Clumps With a Small Comb
Emotions will run high and tears will flow but your makeup doesn’t have to. You will want to make sure you have a small eyelash comb within reach. Even the best water proof mascara can still be wrecked by the waterworks. Another great essential to have at hands reach are eye- drops. You want your eyes to look bright and white for every picture!
Shine Check
No one wants their skin to look oily- especially on their wedding day. We recommend having a pack of oil blotting wipes with you so you can ensure your skin is always looking its best. Check your complextion every hour. After using blotting wipes, dab your face with a tinted loose powder. Don’t use a heavy powder cream, as this will smear your foundation and your makeup will also look cakey.
Exfoliate & Self-Care
Months before leading up to your wedding, you will want to make sure you are taking great care of yourself. You can never have too many self- care nights! Set aside time for yourself and take care of your skin. Great things to do a couple times a week leading up to your wedding include hydration masks, clay masks, and full-body exfoliation. When you exfoliate, make sure you aren’t forgetting about your lips. When your wedding day rolls around, your lip color will last longer if you take good care of them! Here are a few of our favorite masks and moisturizing exfoliations that we love!
1. Drunk Elephant : F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask
3. Mario Badescu: Super Collagen Mask
4. BeautyCounter: Counter + Charcoal Facial Mask
5. Raw Sugar: Sugar Scrub Lemon Scrub
6. Bliss: Micro Magic Microdermabrasion Scrub
Essentials to Carry
Make sure you are prepared by always having a little makeup bag around full of the essentials. Concealer is a must! You don’t want to apply a heavy foundation so a lightweight concealer is perfect for any small areas that need reapplying. If your wedding hairstyle is down, this runs the risk of falling flat more quickly. Pack a volumizing light hairspray to ensure your hair holds for the whole night. Spills and accidents at your reception may happen, make sure you are prepared by packing a tide stick. Some wedding gowns will be more obvious if something gets spilled on the fabric so make sure you are aware of the fabric of your gown and what solutions will get out stains easiest on your gown.
Your big day will be here before you know it! We hope these tips will ensure an even smoother and perfect wedding day!
Cheers to the best days ahead!
XOXO,
